With 2,367 exhibitors from 61 countries, almost 128,000 square metres of rented space in 18 halls and over 113,000 trade visitors, EuroShop 2017 was the largest ever in its 50-year history. In any case, the trade fair for capital goods for trade is the largest event of its kind worldwide.
WSM exhibited in Dusseldorf from March 5 to 9 over approximately one hundred square metres as a provider of system solutions for the retail sector: attention-grabbing advertising media such as pylons, showcases and displays accompanied bicycle parking facilities, shopping trolley shelters and modular room systems. All four of WSM´s product areas, room systems, shelters, information systems and bicycle parking systems were represented on-site, clearly demonstrating how they complement one another.
In addition, WSM customers benefit from the familiar “quality in metal” and service from a single source. “Our customers especially appreciate this system competence, from consulting and planning through to production, delivery and installation, with which we save them considerable valuable time”, explains Andreas Hombach, Sales Manager for Shelter and Bicycle Parking Systems. “Installation of a shopping cart canopy, depending on the size, requires a maximum of one day; a pylon that we have completely prefabricated takes a few hours”.
Digital is even faster. Visitors to the stand were able to view WSM products with an ingenious 3D visualisation, allowing them to view or walk through bicycle parking or room systems from every conceivable perspective. “With the augmented reality technology we used for the first time, we were able to realistically present all our product ranges without having to present the products on site,” says Hombach.
The only physical exhibit was a SmartUnit, an innovative room system that can be installed quickly and easily by the customer with little effort and which is easily kept clean thanks to smooth surfaces and precise manufacturing – ideal for use in the food industry or in warehouses and wherever flexible rooms have to be created and adapted. The SmartUnit is built without a floor of its own and thus enables barrier-free access.
“All in all, we are very satisfied with our new presentation,” says Hombach. “We have been able to show numerous visitors that we are an innovative system provider for the retail sector trusted by well-respected companies over and over again, with whom they can shape their customers’ shopping experiences successfully right from the word go.”
The next EuroShop will take place from 16 to 20 February, 2020 in Dusseldorf, the next EuroCIS, as an annual event dedicated to the topics of retail technology, from 27 February to 01 March, 2018.
