Responding to current challenges with the SmartUnit

The corona epidemic will be occupying the economy for a while and poses considerable challenges for authorities, enterprises and private individuals. WSM’s SmartUnit is the solution to some of these dilemmas.

Organisations that are continuing their day-to-day operations have to master a balancing act between productivity and health protection. On the one hand, entrepreneurial thinking dictates that production capability must be maintained while, on the other hand, it must be ensured that employees remain healthy. One infected employee is enough to send the rest of the workforce into quarantine – production comes to a standstill. This challenge cannot be solved by shift work alone.

This applies not only to production but also to office workplaces. The open-plan office continues to be increasingly popular – with the undesirable side effect that infections become easier to transmit. Simultaneously, hospitals are faced with the task of increasing bed capacities for patients.

WSM’s SmartUnit is the right solution in times of crisis

Whether bus, train and tram stop shelters, smoking shelters or mobile offices – WSM brings people together. Under the current circumstances, we can offer a solution that separates people: the SmartUnit is a modular system of wall elements that can be deployed either as a partition or as a closed room system. Delivery takes place in only one to three weeks, depending on size.

The SmartUnit offers you many possibilities to react to the special requirements of the current situation. Ensure spatial separation in your production, thus minimising contact between your employees. It is conceivable to use a partition wall to ensure that contact between colleagues on different shifts is prevented during shift changes. Or temporarily set up additional office workplaces so that social distancing in your offices is maintained and the risk of infection is minimised.

The sandwich panels can be used to create both partition walls and entire rooms.

The limited number of hospital beds poses a further challenge. Unused premises, such as exhibition halls, which are empty due to the ban on events, are being converted into makeshift hospitals. Here, due to the ease of sanitising and cleaning the wall elements, the SmartUnit enables hygienic room separation similar to a cleanroom.

Three reasons for deploying a SmartUnit

A great advantage of this product is time-saving. The delivery time of one to three weeks is short, which allows you to react quickly to the new and changing circumstances. Delivery is made in a practical recyclable wooden stacking box, which can be easily transported to its destination with a forklift or pallet truck. The assembly itself is simple, fast and can be carried out by your own employees. This means that there is no need for further contact with an external assembly team.

The product offers an additional advantage in terms of hygiene. The elements are made of aluminium and therefore, easily washable. This means that you can disinfect the walls regularly and minimise the survival of pathogens.

The third advantage is the flexibility of the system. The modular design allows you to tailor the product exactly to your requirements. Choose from seven different wall elements and the accessory packages for electrical installation or air conditioning.

By the way: you can just as easily dismantle the system, install it elsewhere or change the configuration. React quickly to the changed and changing circumstances. We are at your service to gladly provide advice.
