WSM at Euroshop 2017 – Success with system

With 2,367 exhibitors from 61 countries, nearly 128,000 square meters of net leased space in 18 halls and more than 113,000 trade visitors, EuroShop 2017 was bigger than ever before in its 50-year history. Worldwide, the trade fair for capital goods of the trade is in any case the largest event of its kind.

WSM presented itself in Düsseldorf from March 5 to 9 on around one hundred square meters as a provider of system solutions for the retail trade: bicycle parking systems are just as much a part of this as shopping cart shelters or modular room systems. All four of WSM’s product areas, Room Systems, Waiting Shelters and Bicycle parking systems were represented on site and made it clear how they complement each other.

In addition, WSM customers benefit from the well-known “quality in metal” and service from a single source. “Our customers appreciate precisely this system competence, starting with consulting and planning, through manufacturing to delivery and installation, saving them a lot of valuable time,” explains Andreas Hombach, sales manager for roofing and Bicycle parking systems. “Depending on the size, it takes a maximum of one day to assemble a shopping cart canopy; a pylon completely prefabricated by us stands in a few hours.”

The only way to go even faster is digitally: visitors to the booth were able to view WSM products with a clever 3D visualization, allowing them to view or walk through bicycle parking or room systems from every conceivable perspective. “With the augmented reality technology we used for the first time, we were able to realistically showcase all of our product areas without having to present the products on site,” Hombach said.

The only physical exhibit was a SmartUnit, an innovative space system that can be installed quickly and by oneself with little effort, and which is easy to keep clean thanks to smooth surfaces and precise manufacturing – ideal for use in the food industry or in warehouses and wherever spaces need to be created and adapted flexibly. The SmartUnit is built without its own floor and thus allows barrier-free access.

“Overall, we are very satisfied with our new type of appearance,” says Hombach, “we were able to show numerous visitors that we are an innovative system provider for the retail sector that well-known companies trust time and time again, with which they can successfully shape their customers’ shopping experiences right from the start.

The next EuroShop will take place in Düsseldorf from February 16 to 20, 2020, and the next EuroCIS, as an annual event specifically dedicated to retail technology topics, will already take place from February 27 to March 01, 2018.
